dorothy menzie's children's home:
Dorothy Menzies: Belize City, Belize
This facility is described by the Belizean Department of Human Development as a “residential childcare facility for neglected, abused and dependent children who have been made wards of the department by the courts.” This facility is partially supported by the government, but receives financial and volunteer support from various groups and individuals.
The facility was built for 25 children, and currently houses 54. The government support for food, medicines, and other supplies runs out about half way through each month. They also don’t have money for structural additions or maintenance work. That is where groups like TWAW come into play.
