What We Do

At The Word @ Work, we come alongside Belizean ministries already caring for the hungry, the sick, the imprisoned, and the vulnerable—partnering in ways that empower and uplift. We equip U.S. churches to live missionally, both abroad and at home, transforming short-term trips into long-term commitments that reflect God’s heart for service.

From resourcing schools, building homes, and supporting medical teams to reclaiming overlooked resources through Redemptive Recycling, we believe every gift—human or material—has Kingdom purpose. We prepare, send, and support teams who serve with intention, returning home inspired to love deeper, give more freely, and embody the Gospel daily.

Whether through mission, mentorship, or meaningful connection, we strive to be more than a sending agency. We aim to cultivate a movement where churches are mobilized, partnerships are sustained, and each Christ-follower is truly the Word at Work.

Vacation With a Purpose

At The Word @ Work, we believe the most meaningful getaways do more than refresh—they transform. Our Vacation With a Purpose invites you to experience the beauty of Belize while living out your calling to serve.

Come alongside local partners as you assist in feeding programs, support hospice care, help improve school curriculum, teach sewing to empower women, visit the elderly, or invest in leadership at the world’s only Christian prison. You may also be part of rescue and rehabilitation efforts that offer hope to children and women escaping abuse.

Each day offers both purpose and adventure—whether you're tubing through jungle caves, exploring ancient Mayan ruins, or soaring on zip lines, you'll return home with more than memories. You’ll return changed—deeply connected, inspired by God’s work, and a part of lasting impact in communities that will forever be part of your story.

Church & Large Group Mission Trips

At The Word @ Work, we honor Jesus Christ by connecting resources with needs and people with opportunities to serve. Through prayerful attention to where God is already at work, we help churches and large groups engage in meaningful missions—building bridges between U.S. congregations and Belizean communities.

Rooted in our vision of a thriving Belize marked by empowered communities and lasting impact, we’ve been on the ground since 1996, serving alongside our friends and ministry partners across the country. Whether your team serves through construction, feeding programs, education, medical outreach, or encouragement, your group will be immersed in relational ministry that transforms both those who go and those who receive.

This isn’t just a trip—it’s a chance for your church to live out the Gospel, deepen faith, and grow in community in a way that leaves a legacy of love, growth, and Kingdom impact.

Educator Sponsorship Program

At The Word @ Work, we believe educators have a unique gift for shaping lives—and that gift extends far beyond the classroom. Our sponsorship program invites passionate teachers and education professionals to engage in meaningful service and cultural exchange in Belize. By partnering with local schools and communities, educators can share their expertise, support curriculum development, mentor fellow teachers, and inspire students in under-resourced areas.

This is more than a trip—it’s an opportunity to serve with purpose, build lasting relationships, and leave a legacy of learning, love, and impact. Whether you're in the middle of your teaching career or retired and ready to give back in a new way, we invite you to be the Word at Work.
