Rodger and Leslea say “We love how long-term relationships are being built through our mission trips to Belize and look forward in seeing how God continues use TWAW to touch lives and spread the love of Christ in Belize”.

Mary Zickefoose

I am a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lubbock, TX. My  first trip to Belize was in 1998 and have been about 10 times since.  I am an ordained elder at Westminster and spend local time coordinating two ministries, Loads of Love (a laundromat for women, staffed by volunteers) and the Voucher ministry (food vouchers, food pantry and gasoline vouchers, also staffed by volunteers). I am a retired social worker, having worked predominantly in Children’s Protective Services, adult mental health, and nursing home investigations.  My husband is Lynn Zickefoose of 35 years.  We have 3 adult children, all married, and have 7 grandchildren.  Missions are near and dear to my heart and feel called by God to work wherever he calls me.

Kurt Oheim, D.Min. is Lead Pastor of Pinnacle Community Church in Amarillo, Texas, a church he and his wife, Laura, shared in founding in 1997 with a group of dear friends.  He and Laura have been in active ministry since 1981 serving in churches in Colorado, Louisiana and Texas.  Kurt and Laura have four adult children.  Three sons and wives live in Austin, and their daughter lives in Amarillo, with her husband.  Kurt, Laura and Pinnacle have been partnering with The Word at Work since 2012.  They love serving along side their friends and family on their many trips to Belize.  One of Kurt’s “hobbies” is videography and photography.  His videos are created under the name "A Work in Progress Films," and he produces videos for The Word at Work.
